Waiting in Front of a Piano

[Ndale]

Swinging open the door revealed a relatively large room, of course, it was filled with every odd instrument you can think of. All were old, and most were covered with white sheets, meant to protect the delicate instruments from time itself. There was a fine layer of dust over everything, well, all except in one area, where a large draped object sat in a nook looking relatively clean.

Ndale took long strides into the room, practically dragging Aesis in behind him. Once inside, the cheetah shut the door behind them securely. Turning back to the elf, Ndale took a moment to look him over. It didn't appear that he was too wet, though the cheetah wasn't certain, and it appeared to be that the boy might be falling ill. Well, it couldn't be helping to be wearing damp clothes..a smirk broke out over Ndale's face.

Pointing to the Aesis's shirt, the cheetah raised his eyebrow at the elf and made a motion of removing the article.

'Sqwork' came out of Aesis's nose as he was about to sneeze, but held his nose shut, so the weird noise escaped him, along with his ears popping.

His nose was a bright cherry-red color now, as all the cold had caught up to him.

His dripping wet clothes didn't help much either.

"Eh... -sniff- I don't like being sick..." he said, repeatedly wiping his nose with his hand and blowing some mucus into the towel that previously was placed on his head.

He'd noticed Ndale pointing at his shirt, wanting him to remove the article of clothing.

"Geh.....fine," he said, glaring intensely and Ndale not to try anything, "just leave me alone."

He began to take off his sleeveless shirt, and once he had taken it off, he flung the article of clothing across his left shoulder and stared at the door, hoping to make a break for it as fast as possible.

Ndale was shameless about the way he appraised Aesis's bare chest, smirking with a raised eyebrow. Realizing the direction of the elf's gaze, the feline took a side step to place himself in the direct flight path. He playfully 'tsk'ed at the green haired boy, shaking his head.

"You're not faster than me, Aesis, and as much as I would love to chase you down, I don't think running is good for you right now." He reached out to pull off a drape, revealing a tuba. Bringing the sheet with him, he cockily swaggered up to the elf, not stopping until he was within arm distance. Eyes never leaving the boy's face, he offered the sheet with one hand and reached out to hook the pointer finger of his other in the top of the boy's pants, pulling mirthfully and grinning madly. "These too."

Aesis coughed then scowled at Ndale for touching his pants.

He slapped Ndale's hand away and pointed at Ndale-

"Leave me alone, I don't need your help. I'm fine a-CHOO!"

He didn't feel like taking his pants off in front of another male, so he'd refused to.

In the meanwhile, in his head, another conversation was going on between Aesis and a voice similar to his.:

Taakee it offff~ the unknown but familiar voice said.

'Oh great. You again. Leave me alone.' he replied in his mind.

Oh come on, you can't be that serious. There's nothing wrong. He's a guy, you're a guy. He's not gonna do anything. Sheesh.

'Shut up.'

Fine.

He brought his hand to his forehead to feel that his head was burning hot.

'...no wonder I'm hearing voices.....' he thought.

He sighed and resumed glaring at Ndale.

''Get out of my way.''

[Ndale]

Ndale pouted and cuddled the slapped hand to his chest, looking offended. Genuine concern covered his face when the elf sighed after placing a hand on his forehead. Dropping the sheet on the floor, the feline put his own hands on either side of Aesis's face, thumbs brushing his cheeks, completely ignoring anything the boy said. Ndale winced at how hot the boy was now, and not in the way he usually thought of him. Compared to the elf's skin, the cheetah was actually cold.

Worry gnawed at the feline's brain as he tried to think of what Od had surely said to him at some point.

'Okay, fever...fever. Keep them warm, right? Blankets, blankets...blankets and sleep.' Looking around, Ndale figured that the drapes would do. He reached down to grab the forgotten sheet on the floor, and proceeded to wrap it around the elf snuggly. Fussing, he pulled off another drape to wrap over the boy, stopping as the action caused some keys to be pressed. The notes ran through the room, Ndale looked over, observing the grand piano. He blinked and looked back at Aesis, blinking. He wondered...well, it helped Ndale a few times, should help Aesis too, no?

The cheetah approached the instrument with sparkling eyes, running his fingers over the keys without actually pressing them. Taking a seat on the wooden bench, the feline turned to Aesis and patted the space beside him.

Ndale tossing things on him didn't really make him happy, and coughed as dust covered his face as the drapes made impact.

But it helped.

The drapes were somewhat old, and covered with dust, whilst smelling like a old book. Except, they were thick and warm.

He glanced angrily at Ndale, sitting at the bench of a piano.

"...what now..."

Ndale seemed expectant to have Aesis sit next to him.

"Geh. first you throw dusty old drapes on me then you want me to get out of this warmth to play a stupid piano?!?!?!?"

A moment of silence passed as he watched Ndale, patting the space beside him.

"...fine."

BWAHAHAHAHAHA I WIN AGAIN.

'J-Just shut up....'

Ndale cast a longing look at Aesis, not understanding if the elf was going to sit, as he hadn't left yet, though he seemed reluctant to sit.

"Bring the sheets with you." He nodded to the seat one more time before turning back to the piano completely. It had been awhile, but the feline did dearly love to play the piano. He tried a few notes experimentally, trying to remember.

'Lets see, what to play, what to play.' Ndale racked his brain for the few songs he knew well. 'Well, Yiruma is nice. Maybe...Kiss the Rain?' He tried a few beginning notes. 'No. How about...Dream?' The cheetah let his fingers press down on the keys, starting high on the scale, drifting them down. It was awkward a moment with a pause or two before the memory was refreshed enough to continue. The rest of it flowed easy and the notes filled the room, bouncing off the walls and the dust covered drapes. A small smile slid onto Ndale's face.

Music always made the cheetah feel better, maybe it would be the same for the elf. It was a universal thing, wasn't it? At home in Africa, his boy owner had played the drums often, and traveling had brought light to different instruments that were of a calmer tone. Unfortunately, Ndale only could play the drums and the piano, he was starting on the guitar though.

He cast a glance at Aesis to see what the elf was up to.

"...."

He took the drapes, and tossed them on the ground.

'....Who cares. They're old and musty anyways.' he thought.

He sighed a long and heavy sigh, then walked up to the piano and sat next to Ndale.

As Ndale began testing a few notes, he'd half expected Ndale to fail or so, however, Ndale began playing something...something that actually sounded like something.

The tune was somewhat....addicting in his mind. It seemed familiar, but he didn't know it at all. The tune basically flooded his mind, unable to think of anything else.

"I-It's....."

He paused for a moment before he could utter the word 'beautiful' in elf.

"....what...failure... I could do better..." he said, not wanting to admit he admired Ndale's playing.

He stared at the keys, trying to remember something he'd learned about it. However, his childhood in the cliffs didn't really benifit his knowledge of pianos.

Ndale grinned, seeing Aesis beside him. He chuckled as the boy grumbled about something.

The feline continued playing, leaning in towards the warmth that was an elf with a fever. Wait...Ndale blinked and stopped playing a moment, looking at the elf. Where did the sheets go? With wide eyes, the cheetah spun around to see the drapes on the floor, abandoned. He let out a growl and got up to snatch the white cloth from the ground. He turned to drape it over the Aesis's shoulders again, giving the boy a stern look.

"Keep warm." He rolled his eyes and shook his head, though his features softened quickly after. Ndale looked down at the keys, not really remembering where he had left off with the song. Changing his gaze to the dark skinned hands, he had a thought. Standing behind the green-haired boy, Ndale leaned forward to gently guide Aesis's hands to the key board. He spread his hands over the elf's, lining up their fingers. He pressed down with his pointer finger, making the finger beneath his hit a key and ring a note. He grinned and looked down at the elf, but made no move to step away just yet from their close position, leaving they're hands as they were.

He reacted in surprise to Ndale covering him back with the drapes.

"Wh-What?" he said nervously.

He sighed and rubbed his nose with his hand.

After Ndale's sudden movement of making Aesis hit a key, he said:

"...you're touching my snot."

Ndale didn't understand what Aesis had said to him, though he was aware that the elf was starting to get sick. For not the first time, the cheetah was thankful that most common colds were often species-specific. After all, he was, first and foremost, a big African cat.

The feline took the time to use the elf's hands to play a small, made up melody, before dropping them with a sigh. Ndale wrapped his arms around the boys shoulders, burying his face into the base of Aesis's neck. He was tired, sleepy from the running and the excitement of escaping the rain.

"We should probably bring you to Od if you are getting sick." He sighed, it coming out rather like a purr reminiscent of his four-legged form.

Ndale making his hands move to play the piano was fine, however, when he flung his hands around Aesis, it got really irritating.

"..."

Tired of this madness, Aesis tossed the drapes at Ndale, and looked at Ndale in frustration.

He sighed grabbed his cloak and put it over himself, then motioned for Ndale to get on his back for a 'piggy-back' ride.

He didn't want to bother holding back or being the one holding back anyone.

"Now..where should we go, idiot?"

Ndale glared at Aesis as he pulled the drapes from his face, where they had been tossed. He paused though, confusion covering his face as the elf made a gesture that seemed like an invitation to get on his back. The feline shifted his weight awkwardly, blushing slightly, wondering if he was misunderstanding something here.

Eventually, Ndale scooped up the elf's forgotten shirt and approached Aesis, unsure. With a little hesitation he climbed up to sit on the boy's back as directed. Still feeling a little out of place, he grumbled.

"This is awkward. I'm usually the masculine one." Inside, Ndale wondered how he ended being carried twice today.

He sighed as Ndale grumbled about something.

"We should find somewhere to get me dry, at least."

Although, trusting Aesis to get them somewhere wasn't the best of ideas, as he was unfamiliar with the castle.

He then left the room, unable to close the door due to his hands being full, and strolled off with Ndale on his back.
