"It was my own doing," she responded monotonously. "It was me that left the pack. Me that chose life as a lone wolf. You dont have to be sorry about things that are out of your control. And you didn't even know me a hundred and forty years ago. You couldn't have changed it."

A small smile pulled at her lips, trying to pull off a happy expression. It was a pitiful attempt. She wasn't all that great at faking most emotions. It came with the territory of avoiding them like the plague.

"no.. I guess not uh.. 140 years ago?! Hehe wow you're old" he laughed, trying to change the subject.
Maybe that would cheer her up.

"that's like.. Like.." he thought for a sec trying to find a comparison. "like um... 140.. Years hehe" he grinned a bit sheepishly.

She had to laugh at that. The statement was just so... laughable. "I'm a hundred and sixty two, really. I left the pack in my twenties." She laughed again, pressing her fingers against her lips as if she didn't know what to do with them. Her cheeks were glowing red with the exertion. This was nothing like the times she had laughed with Shae. This was real belly-laughing.

"Yeah, I guess I'm a little old. Ah well, I've not got too long left. Maybe fifty years..." She smiled, shoving her hands in her pockets and throwing her head back to stare up at the stars. "I'm gonna make it a good fifty years, though."

He grinned as she laughed and looked up at the sky.
"haha.. So what does an old granny like you do for entertainment?" he teased. "watch soap operas and listen to Mozart?" he suggested jokingly.

"Hey now, Mozart isn't all that bad," she defended. Her brow cocked and she glanced down at herself. "Do I look like the kind of old granny that sits around watching soap operas? Gag me, please," she grunted. Soap operas were not her scene. "I partake in very different pastimes."

"hehe.. well what are those pastimes?" he asked, laughing. "Lawn-bowls...? Knitting?" he was obviously just joking from the massive grin on his face.
There was no spite in his smile, just ever so slight teasing.

"Kendo and club-hopping are my two favourites. I loved looking down my blades." A grin tugged at her lips as she babbled on excitedly. "Kendo is my passion. The uniforms, though unflattering, are so familiar I think of days gone by."

"...Just a little different than lawn-bowls and knitting, ne?"

"Hehe.. that's cool.." he shrugged still laughing. "Myself I'm not very active.. I prefer to read and go shopping.." he giggled. "And I draw a lot too.."

"Reading is another thing I do when there is time to kill. Drawing is cool. What d'ya draw?" she asked curiously.

"hmm.. Oh I draw all kinds of stuff... but uh- my art pad is at the bottom of my bag under all my cloths" he smiled in an apologetic and almost sheepish way. "Maybe I'll show you some other time.."

His expression brightened at her words. "Hm, Onii-chan is in the same house as well??" his whole mood seemed to become a whole note cheerful as soon as the conversation went back to his so called brother.
"that's great!!.. You think he'll be happy to see me?" he asked, looking up now, almost talking to himself. "I wonder if he'll recognize me after all this time.. hey has he ever mentioned me?" he asked smiling innocently turning back to look at her.

Her smiling expression sobered up instantly upon hearing his excited words. This was why she hated peoples emotions.

To look down into this shining pink eyes would kill a part of her.

Just like when she looked down into bright turquoise eyes.

"I'm leaving."

"He has insomnia."

"In.. som.. nia?" he asked, questioning, sounding out the word as though trying to work out what it meant. Even though he didn't know what it meant his face seemed to fall slightly, smile turning into a slightly confused expression, as though hoping it wasn't anything consequential, tilting his head slightly. He didn't know what insomnia it was but from the way she spoke it didn't sound like anything good..

She groaned mentally. It made it worse when she had to explain it too. Damn it all.

"He...can't remember anything."

His face fell and he looked down.
"Oh.. of course...." he sighed slightly, slightly pained as though he'd just remember something. "He.. doesn't remember." he tried to smile slightly, but it didn't really work. "That's ok though... maybe it's better this way.." he muttered, like he was talking to himself. "He.. hehe... yes... it's.. it's much better if he doesn't remember..."
His eyes seemed to widen slightly, and so did his smile- but it was different from his sweet happy smiles.
He chuckled as he spoke, but it was almost pained.
"it's better, much better.. far far better if he doesn't remember a thing." he laughed airily, his voice cracking and his face splitting into something that looked like he was half laughing and half about to cry.
It was different, sudden, a total contrast to his personality only minutes before.
He seemed almost.. mad...

"Dont go doing anything stupid," Raye growled.

She had seen attitude changes like this far too often in herself. She wasn't always the flirty, sarcastic fighter with a cool head. She used to be brash and make stupid decisions constantly.

"Don't go and meet him with anger. He wont understand why you're angry at him. He'll distance himself and you wont have a chance to make amends. Calm down a little before you go to meet him." She hesitantly placed a hand on his shoulder and gave it a light squeeze.

"Wha-" he turned sharply to face her his eyes holding a crazed glint for a second before it faded back to confusion. "Huh what do you mean.. hehe I'm fine^^" he smiled.
it seemed like a real smile again as well- like he had no idea he'd just lost it.

She gave him a small fake smile back. "Of course. Why wouldn't you be?"

He shrugged skipping again. "it's fine.. I thought he might not remember me- after all it's been so long since we last saw each other." he grinned, shrugging nonchalantly.

Her hand bore down onto the boys head and ruffled his white hair. "You're taking this better than I would. Says something about my maturity, doesn't it?" she chuckled
