Yuuki shook her head vehemently. "Cell phones are out of the question...we have money or contact information. We
dont exist on paper at all."

She wrung her hands at the mention of zigg's name. Oh, if she could blush. "Zigg is..well he's telepathic." Safe topic. Good, she didn't have to explain the confusing stuff...yet, anyway.

When richard brought up his next topic, yuuki's eyes widened. Doctors? It was difficult enough for her to come to a counselor. She'd had even worse experiences with doctors. Though she was definitely curious about how her body function. She had no idea how she even existed

"I thought so. A shame, indeed. When you meet them again, try and establish some way of contact..." He stopped himself. A lecture wasn't what she needed.

"Is that so? Is he able to contact you through that?" That would sure make things easier; but Richard had no clue if telepathy worked long-range. Or if it would work both ways...

Taking her reaction for fear, he quickly shook his head. "Don't be scared, being x-rayed doesn't hurt one bit. You wouldn't feel a thing."
Now, organizing it would be another matter entirely. He could take her to the mainland, but he suspected there would be some issues with that... Richard reached to touch one of her wings lightly. Or, he could bring a specialist here, to the island, which surely wouldn't make anybody happy - even if he was disposed of afterwards. Hmm.
"How do you feel about the idea? It certainly would help clear things up."

"he CAN contact me, its just that he chooses not to." it was quite apparent by her grumpy voice that she wasn't happy about this at all.

"its not the pain that bothers me.--i know how an xray works--but...i don't really trust doctors. but at the same time, i'm more than a bit curious to see...," how that would look she finished silently. she was made of water, and she knew that she was solid at the moment....but what would the x-ray see? most likely bones still. she supposed what she was really curious about was her DNA, respiratory systems, etc. she'd had plenty of "check-ups" at the institution, but she was pretty certain that they'd all been fakes.

"Why? Is he blaming you for the fact that you had to split up?" He tsk-ed at the thought.

"I see." Richard nodded slowly, deep in thought. "If you're not opposed to the idea, I could take you to a doctor. There would be a few difficulties to resolve, but I'm willing to do it for you."
Yeah... the resolution would likely involve a few unfortunate accidents happening to medical staff. But this was his student; his fledgling. That was the least he could do. With a warm smile, he patted Yuuki on the shoulder again.

"No, not at all," yuuki replied quickly. "He's just...stubborn he thinks that cutting us all off completely is the better and safer option." A terrible idea that yuuki would like to bop him upside his dark head for. Zigg could be so infuriating some times....so why did she always think about him? She sighed, already knowing the answer. She also knew what he would think of the doctor visit, but she honestly didn't care.

"I think....it would be a good idea," she replied, her voice slightly nervous, but she took comfort from richard's shoulder pat.

"Well, does he have any reason to think that way? As in, has your telepathy ever been a problem?"
He smiled a little; despite some anger in her words, she clearly was fond of that Zigg.

"That's settled then. We will go in a week or so - is that fine with you?"
On the same day that he would normally go out for a 'meal'. Why not kill two birds with one stone...?
Richard glanced at her wings again with a frown. "Do you have any experience at all with concealing yourself amongst average humans? I can't say I would feel confident having to bind your wings to hide them."

"Well, zigg is afraid that..they'll be able to find us through his telepathy." She had no idea why he was becoming so paranoid...poor zigg he just wanted to keep everyone safe.

"Oh it won't be a problem...I can make myself look like I did..when. Was normal. The tattoos, the wings..even the hair. I used to be blonde, actually." She chuckled nervously at her past.

"Ah... Well exercised caution." He shook his head. "Still, if he was given no reason to think they could, that's rather inconsiderate."

Richard smiled with relief. "Splendid. That will make it drastically easier."
He raised a hand and counted off his fingers. "So, the plan is this - I take you to a doctor to see what exactly this 'beacon' is. If it is removable, we research a way of removing it. And if that endeavor succeeds, we try to find your friends." Richard frowned a bit; there was a lot of 'if's', and it would actually involve a lot of effort on his part. Still, if he was going to do his job, he was going to put his all into it.
"How does that sound?"

She shook her head. "There's actually a fairly decent possibility that they could.." She frowned, deciding not to think about it.

"Yes that should work...I used to have a few issues keeping the guise up, but I think it will be much easier...with ketsuta gone."

She was exited at the possibility of getting rid or the tracker, and seeing her friends again. She never would have guessed that richard would go to such lengths for her, and she was extremely grateful for his help.
"Thank you, by the way, for setting this up..." She said quietly. How do you thank someone for pulling you back from the edge?

"Is that so..." He paused a while to ponder. "Getting in touch with your friends could prove to be difficult. Do you have any ideas where could they be at the moment?"

Richard nodded with a cheerless smile. "See... There is a good side to everything."

Raising a hand to silence her, he shook his head. "Shh. Don't even mention it." He grinned. "I'm just doing my job."
How true that was. The situation was an interesting conundrum to solve, and he was very curious about what exactly was it that those scientists did, undoubtedly undercover; but still, if he could help - it certainly was a plus.

Yuuki frowned. "Hmm..I'm not really sure. Terri was here until the new years party--the tracker activated so he had to leave-- but know terri, he could be anywhere by now. In fact, he'd be the hardest to track down. If I know zigg, he'll be with his brother. Poison will probably be in some big city back in the states."

Her family was so scattered. She sighed and leaned forward, rubbing her temples.

"I could try contacting zigg telepathically, but either way he'll be the easiest to find."

Poison was probably in new york, but with it being such a big city, it would be a pain to find her. With yuuki and zigg however...it was like she was a freaking homing pigeon, with him as her destination. She wasn't about to say that to richard, however. She was already extremely embarrassed about that bit.

"Keeping in mind we cannot really go on a trans-continental wild goose chase, I firmly believe telepathy is the best way." He rubbed his hands together. "So - it is what we will do."

Richard rocked back and forth on the soles of his shoes, searching for any holes in the plan.

"The question remains, even if we find Zigg, how do we seek out the others? Say, can this telepathy contact any of you, or is it a... thing between you and him...?"
Richard coughed a bit, well aware of the awkwardness of the question. Oh well - sometimes being brusque was unavoidable.

Yuuki fidgeted, embarrassed--a psychological blush.
"No. With the four of us, its like a four-way call. We can contact each other through him as long as he's-er- online. Zigg usually has to be able to see who's mind he's reading, but we all seem to be permanently connected, no matter how far away we are."

Describing it in such a technological way sounded odd, but technology also seemed to be something that people could understand.

"That's amazing. And will make this so much easier."
He tapped his chin thoughtfully, then looked to Yuuki again.
"I suppose that is all for now. I will get to preparing out little trip next time I'm on the mainland. It could take me a few weeks, so you will have to be patient. I shall try to make haste."

Richard paused for a moment, then smiled. There were a lot of 'if's, but he had a feeling he already helped - by giving hope.
"How are you feeling now?"

Yuuki sighed, then smiled slightly.

"i feel like i'm finally getting something done...." she murmured. maybe she should practice her abilities out in the yard sometime soon? it was a rather random thought, but being as it was winter, it was probably an oppurtune time...she figured it would be a good idea--she could wear herself out without the whole thing causing trouble, and she'd be able to blow off some steam in the mean time. her mind wandered a bit as she thought of how she would go about it.....

"and thank you, for letting me ramble to you...it helped a lot." she added quietly. she had needed so bad to unload just so that she could see straight and figure out what she should do next. she figured she could also try to access the horde that Ketsuta had left her...she didn't know if she'd have any use for it, but....

she smiled again--it felt good to have a purpose, even if it wasn't an impressive one

"I'm glad I could help" he said and smiled lightly. That's a point for him - at last. His eyes were drawn towards the two bottles, waiting patiently in the shadows. A victory, however small, deserves to be celebrated, no?

Nice excuse.

"Is there anything else I can help you with right now? Because if not, I do have some other matters to attend to."
Richard shrugged, more to himself than to her. It was true... in a way.
"You do know where my office is, right? You can always pop in if you feel the need."

"yes i...i have a few things that i would like to get done too, before the night is over..."

she nodded at the offer to speak to him another time, in his office. she had no idea if she would be visiting him again soon, but she had a feeling that she would see the inside of that office at some point or another. it was nice to have someone to talk to now and again.

yuuki smiled. "thank you, again...i think i'll be off now, too."

she stood and gave richard an appreciative nod before walking to a nearby window--which was now, mostly melted. remembering something, she turned back to him: "i hope you enjoy your wine." she smiled brightly before returning to the window to hopped out, her wings shooting outwards to catch the night air.

"Fine, then." He nodded. "I will see you around."

After she walked off to the window, he approached his baggage and bent down to pick it up. As he grabbed both bottle necks with one hand, the glass chimed quietly again.
At her words, he spun around quickly and returned her smile.
"Thank you. I shall."
Richard watched the girl disappear into the darkness outside, then cradled the wine and continued on his way to enjoy the rest of the night.
