Re: The Dragon's horde--ambrose and yuuki
(( Improvinization FTW! XD ))
Ambrose watched with horror as the bracelet erupted into flames. No-- his treasure! He didn't notice the damage the blaze had done to Yuuki until she spoke to him once more about more treasure. Why were her wrists raw? Ambrose did not linger on Yuuki's pain for long, though, as she brought the statues into view . . .
All the treasure before were mere baubles-- precious baubles, but baubles all the same. The body needed some polish work, but Ambrose's critical eyes immediately spotted the true value of the piece. The gems were real, such a rare thing in his line of work. So many times the rumors would be false, or not all the diamonds would be real, some of them replaced by previous owners, not knowing just how much their 'repair' did harm. But, yes. These two were the real deal, a matched set joined by their gaze. The gaze was almost physical unto itself, but a quick examination detirmined that the two were linked by their silver hind claws. Clever. He would love to shake the hand of the craftsman, if he were but still alive.
Ambrose carefully picked-up the two dragons, each one resting in the palms of his hands. They were fairly small, standing about half a foot in height, but the size did not matter. From the placing of the gems to the smithing of the shiny, shiny silver, the piece was perfect.
He said nothing. There was no need for words.

Re: The Dragon's horde--ambrose and yuuki
Yuuki saw Ambrose's expression, and knew that she had no reason to worry. as soon as his eyes had landed on the two dragons, it was almost as though he'd fallen in love with them. she smiled. yes, she could trust him to take care of them. after all, the two figures were extremely important--not only to her and the late Ketsuta--but in so many ways. that bracelet that had been here one moment and gone the next was proof of that. the strong gaze of the two were not imagined, by any means. there was an extreme significance there.
"please, don't let their gazing stay from each other for too long...that's my only request, other than that you take good care of them--but that's obvious." yes, it was obvious that he would take care of them. she could pick no better caretaker...and she felt a need to not keep them here.

Re: The Dragon's horde--ambrose and yuuki
Ambrose didn't hear a single word Yuuki uttered. He was too entranced by the beauty of the dragons. So beautiful . . . He needed to polish them. Right now.
Slowly, carefully, as if balancing delicately on a one-inch balance beam, Ambrose raised himself off the library floor, still holding onto the dragons, still staring endlessly. He had not forgotten the rest of the treasure, but rather had his priorities in place.
"I . . . need to go," he whispered towards Yuuki almost like an answering machine: not knowing to whom he was talking to. The dragons had to be safe. They had to be safe. They had to be . . .

Re: The Dragon's horde--ambrose and yuuki
She could see it in Ambrose's expression that she'd made a good choice. he would most likely slit the throat of anyone how would try to take those dragons from him...er....with his plastic forks. not a lovely way to go, she realized. yuuki saw his faraway look, and pulled them back to the library with a little nod.
"thank you, ambrose." she murmured quietly. of course, it was more out of his love of gold than a favor to her, but still.

Re: The Dragon's horde--ambrose and yuuki
Ambrose did not even turn towards Yuuki. Her voice reached deaf ears.
Yes. Yes, he would take great care in these statues. Almost too great . . .
Slowly yet surely, Ambrose left the library, his grip tight yet gentle on the statues. One would hate to damage them. His footsteps echo amongst the shelving for a little while before disappating entirely.
