Raye flinched when she felt his fingers brush her own. When she wasn't struck in the seconds following, she raised her head cautiously. "I, uh... For making you uncomfortable?" she whispered quietly, stumbling over her words.

She cleared her throat awkwardly and picked up the discarded guitar, settling it in her lap and plucking at strings absently, trying to distract herself. She needed to stop thinking people would hit her - not everyone could get as violent as Chaye.

"D'you like music?" she asked curiously, eyes lifting to meet his.

"Well you did not make me uncomfortable- well you did, but it was not you! It was that little tingly thing. Ugh... I am sort of new to... What ever this is?" Charles wiggled uncomfortably on the spot and flushed as he tripped over his own words, while he watched Lady colourful play with her guitar with a far away look in her face.

He almost wanted to sing to the sky with the next question she asked. Finally, a distraction from this embarrassment and awkwardness. Grinning at her, he answered; "Of course, especially modern music! The amount of things you can do to create it on thouse computer-things is amazing!" He bounced on the spot a little in excitement, with the blush still lightly dusted on his cheeks.

Raye chuckled at his rambling and strummed at the guitar.

She hummed in agreement. "Computers can do some pretty amazing stuff now-a-days. Modern music is pretty god, but I like the old stuff, too. I've lived through all the music fads."

A soft tuneless hum escaped her lips as she plucked at the strings of the guitar before falling into a rather old song she hadn't sung in quite a while.

"Did you ever sit and ponder, sit and wonder, sit and think,
Why we’re here and what this life is all about?
It’s a problem that has driven many brainy men to drink,
It’s the weirdest thing they’ve tried to figure out;

About a thousand different theories, all the scientists can show,
But never yet have proved a reason why.
With all we’ve thought, and all we’ve taught, why all we seem to know
Is, we’re born and live awhile, and then we die.

Life’s a very funny proposition, after all;
Imagination, jealousy, hypocrisy and all;
Three meals a day, a whole lot to say;
When you haven’t got the coin, you’re always in the way.

Ev’rybody’s fighting, as we wend our way along,
Ev’ry fellow claims the other fellow’s wrong;
Hurried and worried, until we’re buried and there’s no curtain call;
Life’s a very funny proposition, after all.

When all things are coming easy, and when luck is with a man,
Why, then life to him is sunshine ev’rywhere;
Then the fates blow rather breezy and they quite upset a plan,
Then he’ll cry that life’s burden is hard to bear

Though today may be a day of smiles, tomorrow’s still in doubt
And, what brings me joy, may bring you care and woe.
We’re born to die, but don’t know why or what it’s all about
And the more we try to learn, the less we know.

Life’s a very funny proposition, you can bet,
And no one’s ever solved the problem properly, as yet;
Young for a day, then old and gray,
Like the rose that buds and blooms, and fades and falls away,

Losing health, to gain our wealth, as through this dream we tour;
Ev’rything a guess and nothings absolutely sure.
Battles exciting, and fates we’re fighting, until the curtain falls;
Life’s a very funny proposition, after all."

She smiled softly. Wasn't that the truth...

Charles tucked his knees under his chin while he listened to her sing and play her guitar. He smiled lightly as she played and sang, using her voice and facial expressions to convey emotion. Something that a lot of singers, especially modern singers, often forget to do - making even the most beautiful song dull.

As the song finished Charles raised his head to smile even brighter at Lady Colourful. "You know, you should consider being an actor, that was really good."

Raye blushed a little at the Dragon's compliment. She didn't get compliments too often. She never did much in front of people that deserved compliments. "Thanks," she mumbled, hugging the guitar close. "I don't usually perform in front of a crowd. I get stage fright quite a lot." She would never forget the time IX got her to sing and she ended up feinting - landing right on top of Chaye. That was embarrassing. Her cheeks burned at the mere thought of such a horrendous event.

"Do you sing?" the Jinn asked eagerly. Raye was very music orientated. She loved music. Though she couldn't play any instrument besides the guitar, she had a good set of lungs on her and she could contort her voice, making herself sound more masculine or feminine as she sang.

"No, never have and never will." Charles replayed with an embarrassed grin. "I have no real musical talent, which is a shame since I always wanted to play in instrument - like the piano!" He pouted and stretched his arms up and then back to release those satisfying clicks before relaxing again.

"I can dance though... sort of."

"I can't play the piano. Only the guitar. And even then not very well. I focussed on my Kendo. Didnt put as much effort into my music." Raye tapped her fingers on the body of the guitar a couple of times.

She gave a half-smile. "Lucky you. I can't dance for the life of me." She shook her head with a breezy chuckle. "Its a health hazard to dance within a li of me."

Charles giggled and got up from his spot. "Come on, it is not that hard~!" He reached out with his right hand towards Raye, indicating her to take it while rocking on his heels. "I will teach you! I am sure you wont knock me me out with your dancing." Before he gave her any more time to decide he reach out further and gently grasped her hand and moved it towards him to help her up.

"Oh, no. No, I really can't," she denied when he held out his hand to her.

She winced at his words. Though, she was sure he was trying to assure her, it only made her dread it all the more. "Don't be too sure. I really can't dance."

When his fingers curled around hers, she bit her lip. "No. No no no. Nononononononono," she objected, trying to tug her hand back out of his. "Please don't do this. You really don't want to risk your health like this. Knowing my luck I'll end up killing you. And I don't want to kill another friend."
