Pearl fishing[Open to all] Empty Pearl fishing[Open to all]

With an awkward clamber onto the shore, a mottled coloured grey seal twitched it's whiskers and panted heavily. It clutched lightly, in it's jaws a meter string of pearls which it had tried like a selkie possessed to save; Just an average swim but they had slipped off a rock into the ocean and the sea had dragged her through an assault course of under currents to find them. Morag would not lose them.

The sea was choppy and vicious to swim in and the winds whipped up anything not scrapped down on the shoreline. Clouds swirled and it was fairly light outside, but the selkie objected to the water today- she'd lost her shirt to it. Angrily, a fin came down and made a splash accompanied by an annoyed snort. After that she just flopped over and decided to wait for high tides to take her up the beach. Optimistic thinking allowed her to think they would grow strong enough today.

All she had ventured out for was lunch.

Laid out with a mouthful of pearls, letting the tide roll around and over her...for all intents and purposes dead looking, Morag would just wait For the time being. This place was as good as any to try and chill out. If the lack of noise didn't do it, it would be the sea itself.

Bare feet left small indents in the formerly untouched sand, water-logged sand forming tiny puddles where the Star Childe's feet had glanced over. It was not often that Meryl took trips out to the beach for enjoyment, normally she kept away from the shore. She found herself a little intimidated by the sea, she couldn't comprehend how big it was, and how with one wave it could sweep her away. She shuddered a little at the thought, but, she had decided if she was to grow up that she must try to conquer her fears.

Besides, the beach wasn't all that bad.

The blue-haired girl had obtained a small blue pail in her travels, and used it to collect these 'Odd coloured rocks' otherwise known to others as Sea-Shells. She gazed down at her little collection fondly, before finding a small spot to rest near some rocks and placing her pail down carefully.

Her eyes traced the horizon, she wondered about how the ocean touched the very edge of the sky, as if it longed to be part of the sky. 'Perhaps we aren't so different after all,' She mused silently.

The brief string of philosophical thoughts in her head was put off track as she noticed something, no, someone laying in the rolling tide. Were they.. dead? Meryl felt her curiosity being pulled towards them, so despite her better judgement, she wandered slowly toward the seemingly 'dead' being.

"Hello?" She finally called out, after she'd ventured far enough towards them.

"D'yah often greet dead looking things?" Morag said cheerily towards the newcomer, still maintaining the facade of being a corpse apart from a moving mouth "I'm sure there is a term fir' that"

The princess wasn't annoyed at not having heard the approach, it could have been a messenger cat or anything. Or a thief, or a nice tanned and lean sailor. Oh the- mainly bad- possibilities of not paying attention

An eye cracked open and she rolled onto her back towards the...celestial? No, they were stars. Star child. Morag was pretty sure she had read the term somewhere before, probably an outdated selkie scroll about humanity. "And I hope you weren't plannin' on swimming today. Th'waters hellish." she said, gesturing with a fin almost like an afterthought.

Meryl dipped her head slightly to greet the, now definitely not dead selkie. Death was strange to her, the only death she'd really seen was that of her own kind. Even then they seemed to disintegrate into something dubbed 'stardust' but even then she'd never seen it happen, mostly just in stories. It never hurt to say hello to the many sheep carcasses that she had come across in her journeys, even spirits needed company.

She looked over at the ocean gestured to and shuddered instinctively. Drowning was said to be the worst death. "No. Not today. I just came to look at it." One day, maybe, she'd tackle big blue. Meryl looked over at the selkie, "Did I interrupt you sleeping?" She asked, a small apologetic tone creeping into her voice.
