GIANT SNAKE! IN THE CASTLE! (open)

There was that feeling again. That lost feeling when you don't know what to do. He got the job, and he was sure the JOB would be easy, but right now....He just didn't know where to go. Did they prepare a room or was he just to wander around with the one small suitcase that he had all his clothes stuffed into, save the clothe's he was wearing of course. He grimmaced and just decided to wait. Wait in this room till someone, even one of the students, to find him. "How pathetic am I......requiring the assistance of others to help me deal with my life......" He sighed and slithered up to the large tank. He stared in curiously, contemplating over reasons for a giant fish tank when the island the castle was on was sitting in the middle of an even bigger fish tank. The end of his tail rocked slowly side to side, the rattle at the end made a quiet, abrupt 'tchsst' with each downbeat of the tail.

[Natan Isaac]

Natan walked down the steps in the vestibule carrying a bucket and broom. When he found out who had spilled the flour in the kitchen... well, there were plenty of potions in his pitcher!

He stopped halfway down the steps, seeing the thing in the aquarium. That was...new, he thought, a quizzical look on his face. He walked down the steps more slowly, keeping his eye on it. His eyes went wide and his eyebrows flew up as he corrected himself. Not in..behind. And it was a snake.

Dropping the bucket, he brandished the broom in two hands and jumped down the rest of the steps, and as fast as he could to the serpent, shouting "SNAAAAKE! SNAKE IN DE CASTLE!!"

[Leren]

The tank of fish became an easily amusing thing as he was them carefully. The way the fish swam about and the way some stared back at him, it was just entertaining to him.

His amusement was cut off by surprise. The shout made his ears twitch and his tail coil away. After a moment, he peered around the tank at the hoodoo man. He looked the man over, this guy looked older than Leren but then, the chimera still wasn't sure how old he really was. He huffed quietly and finally spoke, "There is no need for hysterics......This snake isn't going to harm anyone."

[Natan Isaac]

Snake, snake, snake, snake, snake, snake, snake, went through Natan's head. Off all the pests that this castle could have, snakes might be the worst. At least rats had the courtesy to run away!

He was...surprised to say the least as it spoke. Which is how he would explain why he jumped near two meters back from a full sprint. Recovering quickly, he held the broom up on his right side like a bat before addressing it.

"Now what you want hea, ya koulèv?" He asked trying to look threatening with his chin tilted up. Between his weapon of choice (a broom) and his stance (square on, hands at forehead level), he looked thoroughly unqualified to do anything about the castle's new resident.

[Leren]

He backed up a little, not really wanting to be whacked by a broom. "Now please calm down sir, I'm here as the castle's new butler....I don't plan to hurt anyone." He held his hands up, trying to look harmless. ".....Let me introduce myself if anything.....I go by Leren, sir, just Leren."

[Natan Isaac]

"Oh really den?" Natan asked suspiciously. Just because he'd never met a talking snake before, didn't mean it wasn't as slippery as the other ones. "How do I know dat chew's supposed to be hea, an' not jis lyin'?" He reasoned that the phrase 'a forked tongue' came from somewhere, and snakes, after all, had a forked tongue.

[Leren]

It was increasingly irritating the more the man spoke. Was he really that untrustworthy looking? He sighed, "And how am I supposed to convince you I'm not lying? If I just say I'm not lying you'll say you don't believe me. Simple as that." He rubbed his face tiredly and looked with unamused eyes at the man.

[Natan Isaac]

He didn't think about how to prove it... "Well" Natan said, thinking. He propped his broom on the floor and scratched the back of his head"...do chew have a letter or someting? Meybe a contract?" Yes! A snake wouldn't have a letter if it wasn't supposed to!

[Leren]

He nodded slowly, "Yes, I do have a letter. I received it after I sent in my application." He reached into the pocket of his coat and pulled out a folded up paper, holding it out to Natan. "Right here if you really need the proof."

[Natan Isaac]

Snatching the paper out of the snake's hand, Natan reviewed it suspiciously. He didn't know what Leren's confirmation would look like, but he tried to make it as good of a show as he could. Glancing over the lines quickly, he slowly handed it back.
"Well all right den" he said somewhat coldly with a note of distrust. Not that he could prove that the snake-man was supposed or not supposed to "But I'll be watching you." Natan added before turning and walking back up the stairs. Halfway up, he turned suddenly around and made a 'watching you' guesture by moving his fingers from his eyes to point at Leren.
