The gaze on Rendaz narrowed marginally, but Od's smirk grew. He was tempted momentarily to give in to the suggestion and offer business, but quickly ended up deciding he would wait since he wasn't entirely sure what he wanted anyway.

"You're right. I wanted to tell you that you're beautiful, and to get to be the last to congratulate you." He retreated a little back towards the hallway, pulling the door after him.

It was difficult to guess sometimes just how far someone wouldn't mind being joked with before they grew annoyed, but Rendaz's hint-of-smirk felt promising.

"Disappointed?"

"Huh." Rendaz snorted at his response. Oh, Od was teasing him now, was he? He could've almost expected that response from him, but he doubted that they were the true motives behind Od's wait. He stepped forward slowly, reaching to place a claw on the door while he peered at Od through the gap that remained open. "Well, isn't that sweet," he sneered, his tone laced with sarcasm. "Now if only you'd be so willing as to leave. I've got work to do, and that doesn't include entertaining you." With a smile that was hardly genuine, he pressed his hand on the door, aiming to shut him out before returning to his duty.

Od's smile was sly as Rendaz approached, and his gaze flickered between the ruckarl's claws on the door and back his sneer. He bit his lip to keep from snickering and leaned heavily into the door frame. With his head bowed to meet Rendaz's gaze, he quieted his voice teasingly, deciding he'd only push this meeting just this much further before finally leaving the poor new dean alone.

"Entertaining me would be pleasure, not work."

He pecked the pad of his own fingertip then turned it through the opening in the doorway, aiming a poke to the tip of Rendaz's snout.

Withdrawing to allow Rendaz to shut the door, Od spun and catwalked away down the hall.
